Multi-Disciplinary Web Site In Support Of Heart Health To Debut On World Heart Day

September 17, 2004 — On World Heart Day (Saturday, September 26th), a new voice in the cardiac community will make itself heard as Michael Foote, MA, introduces his Web site, Heart Healthy for Life (http://www.centerforbody-mindintegration.com). This affordable subscription service is building a continent-wide support community for individuals and couples recovering from or seeking to prevent heart episodes. ?After I had my open heart surgeries, I felt pretty isolated and afraid of what might happen down the road,? offers Michael. ?This is why I have created this heart healthy community: to share what I?ve learned and have a place for others to share.?

Foote is a 2002 graduate of the somatic psychology program at Boulder-based Naropa University. He and his team of specialists, several of whom are also Naropa graduates, will offer video seminars, teleconferences, online chats, and live workshops in addition to monthly articles and dialogues published in the member section of the site (http://www.centerforbody-mindintegration.com). Heart Healthy for Life takes a holistic approach to health, drawing on a wide variety of western and eastern healing practices.

Foote?s mission is to assist, support, and guide people through positive experiences of what can otherwise be radical and disruptive change. The diverse Heart Healthy for Life team spans an array of disciplines. Monthly articles authored by health professionals offer practical

advice. Kitchen coaching focuses on organization and new cooking methods for healthier lifestyles. Dance and movement specialists encourage creative perspectives on exercise and body awareness, while yoga instructors teach routines tailored to heart patients. The overarching goal is to help people build more relaxation and serenity into their lives while maintaining active, well-balanced routines. ?Each of us has our own unique learning style; that?s why we offer articles, audio lectures, and video presentations to support our members? learning styles,? says Michael.

Through an affiliate organization, Heart Healthy for Life also offers weight loss, wellness, and fitness coaching for groups and individuals. This innovative site is a one-stop shop for the resources people are turning to as the population gains more sophisticated knowledge of both traditional and contemporary healing practices (http://www.centerforbody-mindintegration.com). ?We know that people go through various stages of change in their own time frames. Coaching helps a person move much more quickly into the action stage and assists clients in avoiding lapses so they say in the maintenance stage longer,? says Michael. Heart Healthy for Life is guided by the philosophy that a balance between established, modern, western, and eastern methods provides the most holistic solutions to people?s health needs.

Heart Healthy for Life is offering special rates to charter members. For more information, log on to http://www.centerforbody-mindintegration.com.
